Counting heavily on its youth wing, SAD president Sukhbir Badal and general secretary Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday sounded launched the ‘Youth for Punjab’ campaign. The punchline for the campaign is Punjab Punjabian Da (Punjab for Punjabis), large size hoardings carrying pictures of Sukhbir dotted different parts of Chandigarh. Sukhbir and Majithia attacked opponents AAP and Congress.
Addressing the gathering, Sukhbir gave a call to its activists to eradicate khooni panja and outsider topiwale as he hit out at Congress and AAP.
“2017 battle has to be won by Youth Akali Dal (YAD). There sould be a storm in next few months which should ensure that neither khooni panja nor jhaaroo (broom, the poll symbol of AAP) remains visible in Punjab,” Sukhbir said, directing Majithia and YAD coordinator Sharanjit Singh Dhillon to take the “storm” to every constituency.
The SAD attack was aimed more at AAP than Congress. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal remained the focus of attack, escpecially in the address by Majithia.
“It appears that Indira Gandhi is born again. This time in the form of Arvind Kejriwal,” Majithia said, invoking Army action on the Golden Temple during Congress regime and referring to comparison of AAP’s youth manifesto to Guru Granth Sahib by AAP leaders earlier.
At the entry point, cops frisked everyone who entered the party office and a drone videographed the function.
