Akali leader held for protecting Gangsters

Gaurav Sharma alias Goru Bacha, who is on the run in a murder case for past nearly two months, is shooting people at will, while the police is watching the brazen crime unleashed by the gangster like a mute spectator.
In a major embarrassment to the Akali government, who is facing charges of sheltering criminals, the city police have arrested Jeevan Sekha, District (I) president of Student Organisation of India (SOI), for giving shelter to Goru Bacha. SOI is a student wing of SAD.

A press release issued by the police stated that Sekha was arrested by the Dugri police and the police was questioning him to know the whereabouts of Goru Bacha.

The release said Sekha was providing shelter to Goru Bacha and helping him in extorting money. While in jail, Sekha used to bear all expenses of Goru Bacha.

The police have slapped a case against Sekha under sections 382, 212, 216 and 210 of the IPC for snatching and harbouring criminals.

The incident has put SOI president Manpreet Singh Dugri in a tight spot, as he had defended Sekha after Vikrant’s family staged a protest against Sekha and blocked traffic at Atam Nagar Chowk. A dharna was staged after Goru Bacha’s picture appeared on hoarding of Sekha.

Later, Gaurav’s picture was also seen with former Cabinet minister Hira Singh Gabria.
