AAP worker shot dead by SAD leader in Moga

AN Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker died Sunday late after a local Akali Dal leader opened fire at him at Bhinder Kalan village in Moga’s Dharamkot. The incident followed a heated argument between the two — former sarpanch of Akali Dal Jagsir Singh and AAP worker Jagroop Singh — over a land dispute.
Jagroop was rushed to Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH)of Ludhiana, where he succumbed to bullet injuries. The Moga police, when contacted, said they were not aware of the incident.
Moga SSP Snehdeep Sharma told The Indian Express that “he will get details from Dharamkot police station but is not aware of any such incident till now”.
When contacted, Dharamkot SHO Satwinder Singh said “details are yet to be gathered”.
Meanwhile, sources from Moga police said Jagsir Singh along with his accomplices, Rajvir and Manjit, reached the disputed site and started ploughing the land to which Jagroop objected. Arguments ensued and both parties entered into a clash after which Jagsir opened fire.
