The father of Divya Pahuja, one of the eight accused in the murder of Gurgaon gangster Sandeep Gadoli, has approached the Gurgaon police claiming that his daughter has gone missing and that he fears for her life.
The Mumbai Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) had on May 28 named her as an accused in the case. According to the SIT, Divya was with Gadoli when he was shot dead by a Gurgaon police team on February 7, which makes her a “high-risk witness”.
An SIT official said Divya’s mother Sonia Pahuja, also named as an accused in the case, remains untraceable as well.
Gadoli, a Gurgaon-based gangster, was shot dead by a Gurgaon police team inside Hotel Airport Metro, located near Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, on February 7. While the Gurgaon police team claimed they had fired in self defence, the SIT formed by the Mumbai police concluded that the encounter was fake, and filed an FIR against eight people, including five policemen from Gurgaon. Explaining why the mother and daughter were named as accused, an SIT officer claimed that Divya was travelling with Gadoli and passing on information about his location via WhatsApp to her mother. Sonia then passed on this information to Manoj Binder, the brother of Gadoli’s Gurgaon-based rival, the officer said. Manoj, who has also been named as an accused in the case, alerted the Gurgaon raiding team, the officer said.
