In a startling incident, AAP MP Bhagwant MP reportedly asked the media to leave a rally voluntarily, failing which they’d be thrown out. This reportedly happened after they questioned him for arriving three hours late. An HT report said that Bhagwant Mann incited volunteers to throw out the media from a rally at Fatepur Sikhri.
Mann who was three hours late reportedly said: “I request the media to leave the pandal and they can publish whatever they want!” Mann said he even knew what will be the headlines in the next day’s papers. “They will write, ‘Mann reaches rally venue three hours late’. And they will accuse me of insulting them,” he said. And he went on to bash the media for the next 20 minutes.
When party candidate Bassi Pathana Santokh Singh Salana tried to intervene, Mann snatched the microphone back and accused journalists of accepting bribes. He said: “I know you take money for publishing someone’s name. I know that you go to people and say there is a story against them and ask for money not to publish it.”
